Our story begins in 1982 when Ashikian Jewelry Group was founded by Karapet Ashikian along with his father Mikael and brother Sarkis. With Karapet's experience working as a jewelry apprentice at several factories, the trio began designing and selling their jewelry to local stores. Since our founding days we are still a family owned and operated business with three generations working together to deliver superior quality jewelry while maintaining remarkable client services. Our operation has grown from the founding family members to over 200 employees of designers, polishers, stone setters and other artisan jewelry professionals. Ashikian Jewelry Group has become the largest jewelry factory in Los Angeles and one of the largest in the United States. In 2001 we opened our state of the art 30,000 sq ft factory in Downtown Los Angeles. Today we are proud to be one of the most exclusive and comprehensive manufacturers of high-end designer jewelry brands. SERVICES
Design Consultation/Product Development
This is the initial step in the production process. At this stage you will work with our team of jewelry professionals, designers and engineers to discuss concepts, price points, market strategy, brand goals and more. From this meeting, we will determine an agreed upon plan to prepare for production. During this process you will see your idea transform from a design to a prototype.
CAD Design & 3D Printing
At this stage your design begins the process of taking its physical form. Our highly specialized CAD designers take your 2D concept and give it life in a 3D form. Once approved, the 3D form is sent to the printing department, allowing you to physically hold your creation. This physical form is utilized later in our process during casting.
Engraving
From a simple logo to a fully sketched design, at this stage we take your trademark feature and translate it to your piece, giving it a custom craftsmen touch.
Enameling
Over the years we have worked with various colors to enrich each piece to the highest quality. Our team of professionals provide color match to any client’s vibrant taste.
Mold Making
Utilizing our expertise, innovation and first-rate technologies we prepare your 3D model for production. Our team will collaborate to determine the appropriate method such as metal, rubber or CNC milling to provide a consistent and efficient production.
Private Label Manufacturing: Fine Jewelry
Strategically partnering with select brands to handle all facets of production and manufacturing. Supporting the client and all necessary assets to expand and flourish together.
Casting and Metal Forming
With over 30 years of excellence, Ashikian’s casting department handle everything in-house. Working with our experts allow you to transform metal to meet whatever need your design demands. This in-house process gives us more control and lessens casting inefficiencies.
Stamping
Our team of die makers has the capabilities to convert metal to meet the requirements of any concept. While majority of manufacturer’s choose to rely on dies, machine parts and materials shipped from other vendors, our die makers keep every part in-house. Our ability to have complete control provides efficient communication and consistency regarding this essential part of production.
Stone Setting
Producing the best means recruiting the best. Our team of stone setters have over 75 years of collective experience. This level of proficiency provides the capacity to handle various pave, prong, wax and channel settings from gemstones to diamonds. Our stone setters are skilled at setting accent stones to center stones and everything between.
Polishing
Convey your jewelry’s pure beauty with our polishing process. Whether you are looking for a mass tumble polish or a hand high polish, our jewelry professionals are here to deliver. Offering finishes such as matte, textured, satin or sand, our artist will complete the design per request.
Contract Manufacturing: Fine Jewelry
Ashikian Jewelry Group values upholding exceptional business practices. We have the capabilities to assist other manufacturer’s in specific projects utilizing our professional facility and artisans.
Ashikian Jewelry Group recognizes quality processes requires quality materials. As a leader in the precious metal refining manufacturing industry we adhere to state, national and international standards on responsible practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals. We begin by cultivating a traceable chain of custody, starting with the refining of the recycled precious metals to our practices in our LA facility. Our primary source for recycled gold and platinum is secured from old jewelry and scrap gold purchased from our customer base. Other recycled precious metal sources include electronics, catalytic converters and industrial byproducts.
These metals go through a refining process that separates their accompanying alloys, reducing to pure gold and platinum. This refining process is done in the United States, meeting and exceeding all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as state and local regulatory standards. The resulting pure gold and platinum have the same properties as newly mined ore, but without the negative environmental consequences, ready to transform into finished jewelry.
Our recycled gold processes are certified and audited by The SRSP (Signet Responsible Sourcing) and The RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council). This code of practices encompasses but is not limited to the areas of human rights, labor rights, environmental impact, mining practices, and product disclosure.
Ashikian Jewelry Group continues to engage in responsible business practices through annual training, due diligence, and cooperation with the various compliance agencies in our industry. We use only ethically sourced materials and recycled gold for our jewelry. Along with United Precious Metal Refining, Inc. we are committed to the RJC’s Code of Practices which include audits to ensure we are compliant.
Ashikian Jewelry Group is committed to minimizing its environmental impact and footprint. All factory water is recycled and reused. Remaining trace metals are refined and recycled. We also developed a proprietary filtering and recycling method for all wax used in our casting and molding departments.
